Long introduces bill addressing Riverside Bridge rebuild04/04/17
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressmen Billy Long (MO-07) introduced a bill in the House today that addresses the Riverside Bridge project in Christian County. Congressman Long released the following statement:
“For several years residents in Christian County have had to deal with a broken bridge that is vital to their everyday life,” said Rep. Long. “Today I introduced a bill in the House that will take the first step to fix this problem by removing the deed restrictions on the land adjacent to the bridge that is owned by the county. This will allow the local community to finally take the necessary steps to address this problem.”
Background on the Riverside Bridge bill:
- The Riverside Bridge in Ozark, Missouri, has been closed for several years due to continual flood damage.
- This bill will lift the deed restrictions on the land adjacent to the bridge that was purchased by Christian County with FEMA funds.
- The deed restrictions placed on the property prevents any new construction on the land.
